Rock Hill’s Riverwalk Development Gets $50M Boost

Yesterday, Rock Hill SC city leaders made a huge step towards making the Riverwalk development a reality.

“City leaders approved a public financing package for Riverwalk, the 1,000-acre project that could bring new life to the old Celanese textile site at Cherry Road and Interstate 77. Plans call for an industrial park, retail shops and hundreds of home sites — which developers say could represent a $600 million redevelopment.”

While the entire project isn’t scheduled to be completed until 2028, construction could begin as early as next summer on some key components of the project. One interesting piece of the project will be the east coast’s only velodrome, which is an oval bicycle race track.  It’s one of the projects slated to begin next summer and could be completed by as early as 2012.

Overall, the project is expected to attract around 4,000 new jobs which is certainly good news for both Rock Hill SC and Fort Mill SC.  With the real estate activity already picking up, knowing this project is coming along with all of the associated benefits I can only expect it will continue to help the housing market.

Ways To Save At The Beach

I saw this post today and since my family and I are headed to the beach I found it extremely helpful. I hope you find it helpful as well!

Cost Saving tips for your vacation to the beach.

  • The spray sunscreen is awesome especially for those wily toddlers who hate the entire process but save it for when you must reapply after swimming or after 2 hours of sun. There is very little in the bottle and by using the regular stuff you will save money.
  • Know where you will shop before you go. Find out what local grocery store is nearby. You will need stuff – milk – bread – etc… sign up a head of time for the store loyalty card so you will save. I registered for the new grocery spot in OIB before I left last week and save $29.23 and an additional $10 for spending over $50!
  • Buy swimsuits, towels and all that other gotta have it like beach chairs before you leave – The cost is almost double at the local Beach Shop!
  • Instead of buying the conveniently packages cookies or chips – Buy some snack size storage bags and buy in bulk to save a ton!

Success Requires Clarity & Purpose

This post is a bit off my normal topics of buying or selling real estate in the Rock Hill SC and Fort Mill SC area, but it has such a powerful message and I wanted to share it with my readers.

While I haven’t always been a big believer in the whole game of ‘mental mastery’, I’m slowly coming around to recognize it’s power and importance.  I saw this clip this morning and thought its message was wonderful.
