Here’s a quick video I found online that I thought had some great ideas to help you arrange your bedroom furniture:

If you’re looking for a new home in Fort Mill SC or in Rock Hill SC, definitely give me a call.
The first thing you, your guests or a prospective buyer sees when arriving at your house is your front yard. If your front yard is slovenly and unkempt, the first impression your home gives is one of carelessness, no matter how nice the rest of your house is, inside or out.

Creating an appealing front yard through the use of landscaping can alter the overall impression given by your home, making it more inviting and comfortable for your visitors and your family. Even in tough economic conditions, a pretty, well-tended front yard can push the price of your house upwards. When prospective buyers arrive at your home for a viewing, the sight of a delightful front yard will automatically set them to thinking about ‘coming home’ to your house.

Check the internet and bookshops to get ideas for your front yard. If you want to talk to someone who knows about landscaping, you can go to your local garden center to speak to a knowledgeable member of staff or ask a professional gardener or landscaper to help.

Things you need to bear in mind are the amount of space available, the height of walls or fences and keeping pathways and window areas clear, as well as the time of year, weather conditions and color combinations.

No matter what plants or flower you decide to put in, whether it is flowers to cover ground, foliage to fill space or vines to climb walls, it will almost certainly increase the value of your home by far more than the cost of the landscaping itself.

Whether you’re planning on selling your house or not, everybody loves plants and flowers, so let them add value to your home and your life.

Let us help you plan your front yard!

In what is being termed by many as ‘Bloody Monday’, the Home Depot Design Center at the Metropolitan will be closing it’s doors in the coming weeks. While some 71,400+ people nationwide found out they’d be looking for work today, employees of the 128,000 square foot showroom have most likely less than 2 months remaining before they’ll be looking for work.

According to today’s Charlotte Observer, the Design Center was “envisioned as a blend between traditional Home Depots and the chain’s EXPO Design Centers, which are high-end stores aimed at big remodeling jobs. Unlike traditional Home Depots, the Design Center had no lumber, building materials or garden center but gave more display space to items such as containers, lighting, mirrors and flooring. It was designed to appeal more to women, who often make households’ decorating decisions.”

It’s certainly some sad news, not just for those of us that LOVE home decorating, but for those that found out today they’d be looking for work, as well as the rest of us that will feel the economic impact of the decision.

On a lighter note, home sales are still holding strong here in the Rock Hill and Fort Mill SC areas, so don’t let today’s bad news discourage you if you’re considering buying a new house or selling your existing home!

Here are a few ideas to help you achieve a comfy, warm feel with your home decorating this winter:

Use lighter fabrics to help bring the appearance of ‘extra light. With the shorter days you’ll appreciate the affect it will have on your home.

Place lots of candles around your home to shed light on every corner. Again, this will help make the shorter days a little more bearable.

Arrange furniture to face the fireplace or hearth. On cold winter days, even in somewhat balmy Rock Hill SC or Fort Mill SC, it’s nice to sit in front of the fireplace enjoying the warmth it gives off.

The real sense of the season starts at the front door so don’t be afraid to continue displaying seasonal wreaths, candles, or other greenery on or around the front door to your home. If altered just slightly, you can get more use out of your Christmas decorations you’ve probably already stashed away.

Listen, even though the weather’s turned cold doesn’t mean we have to put our decorating style on ice too! Just use a little creativity, some imagination, and before you know it your Rock Hill SC home will be just as warm and inviting as it was during the holiday season!

Courtesy of www.Amazing-Christmas-Ideas.com, here’s a great idea for putting all your Christmas cards to good use this year.

Look your cards over and decide which cards look good together. They will be different sizes. Some will open from the bottom and some will open from the side. Some won’t open at all. They will be face cards, perhaps with children’s pictures.

When I hang the cards, I don’t want them to fall open. I only want to see the pretty pictures on the front. Use double stick tape or fold over single stick tape making a loop with the sticky on the outside. Now that you have tape with two sticky sides, place the tape on the inside of the cards in one place only, near the edge. You don’t want them permanently closed, because you may want to peek inside occasionally and do a little reminiscing. If you don’t want to tape them closed, that’s okay too. Just skip this step.

Once again, using double stick tape, start placing the cards at the top of the doorframe and move across. Select the cards you think look good together. Even after you’ve placed them, you can always change your mind and rearrange them.

I like to take them all the way to the floor so the entire door is framed. If you prefer, you may take them half way or three quarters of the way down. Then as new cards arrive you can tape them to the doorframe and add to the collection.

If you want the display to look a little dressier, place a greenery swag or large bow at each corner of the doorframe. Start placing your cards after these decorations are in place.

So, what do you do with your Christmas cards?

With the Christmas holiday just a few short weeks away, it’s time to start getting your Rock Hill SC home into the holiday spirit. While it can be a daunting task, it doesn’t have to be!

Here are 5 quick holiday decorating tips to help make the task quick and easy:

Decorate EVERYTHING with bows. Nothing says ‘Holiday Season’ more than some festive bows around the house. While red and green are what everything thinks of, if you don’t have any, feel free to use other colors. And if you can’t find a color or print that feels right, go for the gold or silver foil like ribbons.

Use festive dinnerware for EVERY meal. This one’s actually pretty simple to do. Instead of using the same old boring dinner ware you use all year, round up the holiday dinner ware and use it for every meal. It will definitely add an air of ‘Holiday Cheer’ to the dinner time equation!

Turn on the holiday lights and the normal lights off. Once you go through the trouble to actually hang your holiday lights, use them at every opportunity. There’s nothing that says “It’s Christmas time” more than some twinkling Christmas lights strewn throughout the house. And don’t be afraid to hang them on more than the tree.

Hang holiday wreaths inside and out. Just like some festive bows, a few holiday wreaths spread through the house will let everyone know it’s holiday time. Check the home improvement or craft stores for some great deals on wreaths if you don’t have enough to achieve the proper holiday ‘feel’.

Turn on the Christmas tunes! I’m sorry but there’s nothing that can bring the holiday spirit faster than some nice holiday music playing softly in the background. There are several local radio stations here in Rock Hill that play Christmas music 24/7 so either turn on the radio or put on your favorite CD and sit back and enjoy the spirit that comes with. I promise you’ll be in the Christmas spirit in no time flat!

I hope these 5 quick tips help as you look for ways to quickly get into the holiday spirit!
