The magical season for the hometown Carolina Panthers will continue this Saturday at 8:15pm at Bank of America Stadium as the Arizona Cardinals roll into town on the heels of their defeat of the rival Atlanta Falcons on Saturday. The Panthers secured a first round bye and home field advantage by virtue of their season ending victory over the New Orleans Saints in their last game of the regular season and now it’s onto the ‘second season’ as many people call it.
It’s pretty exciting to have the NFL Playoffs coming to town and the Panther’s have a pretty good track record in the post-season. The team has previously hosted 2 playoff games at home here in Charlotte, NC and have come out on top in both of those contests. Those were pretty sweet victories as well because they were over the much-hated (at least in my household) Dallas Cowboys.
Even though it won’t be the Cowboys coming to town, the Cardinals will still present a pretty tough match-up, but I think our Panthers are up to the task of showing these birds just how smash-mouth football is suppossed to be played.
My prediction for the game:Â Panthers 28 – Cardinals 14

In a trend that has been happening for some time now, people looking to either buy or sell real estate (and not just in the Rock Hill SC or Fort Mill SC areas) continue to go online to conduct much of their research before making any decisions. With the increased usage by most of the Internet, it should not really come as a suprise that so many people go online to check out neighborhoods, find and research real estate agents, and even ‘hunt for houses’ before actually going out to ‘hunt for houses’.
The Internet makes it so convenient to pinpoint an area, look for homes that meet a specified criteria, and then get all the nitty-gritty details on the homes. Of course that same can be said for getting information on a real estate agent, or a school district, or any other of the countless reasons why people buy a particular home.
And to help your job of finding information about the real estate markets in Rock Hill SC, Fort Mill SC, Tega Cay SC, Lancaster County SC, or even Charlotte NC easier, I’ve got several tools on my website to help you with your real estate searches.

Well, so much for making predictions! At least when it comes to football.
Unless you were completely locked away from the world over the weekend you’ve probably seen that our hometown Carolina Panthers got absolutely destroyed on Saturday night at Bank of America Stadium. And the saddest part of it all is that they really never had a chance to win.
That’s thanks mostly to the worste performance of QB Jake Delhomme’s career. He threw 5 interceptions and lost a fumble to account for all 6 of the Panther’s turnovers. Those 6 turnovers resulted in 23 points for the Cardinals and if you consider the final score was 33-13, it makes you wonder what could have been.
In addition to the heartache of Saturday night’s performance, the Philadelphia Eagles went in NY yesterday and beat the 1st seeded Giants, which means had the Panthers won, they would be hosting the NFC Championship game here in Charlotte next Sunday.
Unfortunately, we’re all left with the sting of Saturday’s loss, something we’ll have to live with until the Panthers hit the field again sometime in September. I’m hoping that over time we’ll all remember more about what a great season the Panthers had instead of the disappointment of Saturday’s painful loss.

Ever wonder what it would cost to buy the White House? Yeah, THAT White House. You know, the one located at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave?
Well, according to Zillow.com, it you wanted to buy the White House you’d have to pony up roughly $303,362,000. Yep, over $300 THOUSAND!
That works out to a $1.4MM monthly mortgage payment!
Any takers? I know a GREAT real estate agent that could help you get your name on the deed?Â

Well, we knew it was bad, but I don’t know if anyone expected it to be THIS bad. According to Realty Trac as reported by Reuters, one in every 54 households got a notice regarding some type of foreclosure activity. Ouch.
James J. Saccacio, chief executive officer of RealtyTrac, said, “Clearly the foreclosure prevention programs implemented to date have not had any real success in slowing down this foreclosure tsunami.”
I guess one silver lining on this very dark cloud is the fact that the fourth quarter activity declined 4% when compared to third quarter activity, but when you consider the fourth quarter activity jumped 40% from 2007′s fourth quarter activity, it’s difficult to be too cheerful.
As far as our area, Rock Hill SC and Fort Mill SC, there was certainly a considerable amount of foreclosure activity. Most definitely a silver lining though, our rates of foreclosure aren’t anywhere near what they are in other parts of the country. Yes, we’re getting hit by this real estate meltdown, but it’s not nearly as ‘ugly’ as it is in other areas.
